hey everybody, how ya'll doing? well, here i am in kenya sitting at the internet cafe. i never would've though that sometime in my life i would be here.
anyway, les em and i had a great time on our safari. we saw many zebras, ostrichs, warthogs, buffalo, elephants, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, monkeys and lions. we were fortunate enough to even get to watch the lions mating. ah! we got to see a black rhino which was AWESOME. there are only 30 in the massai mara so there is a 1 percent chance you will get to see one, and well, we did. i can't believe my life. it was awesome. we even got to see the massai people. i traded my umbrella for some cool bracelets and stuff. it was sad becasue i felt really sick the whole time though. who gets sick on a safari? i had an incredibly high fever and it sucked hardcore. i fell asleep in the jeep for a while. bummer.
i'm sure you are all wondering why i named this blog the way i did, and, it's quite a funny story actually. you see, the place we stayed at our first night in kenya was the sketchiest place i've ever been. there was a creep guy here who freaked us all out. since we brought a whole bunch of junk from our supply closet in uganda to trade the massai people with, we had 3 kaleidescopes with us. we decided to set up a booby trap so that all of them would fall if the creepy man came into our room in the middle of the night and we would wake up. well, em was in the bathroom and les had her pants off and i had my shirt off when all of a sudden we heard a knocking on the door. les kept saying "hold on a sec. hold on a sec." he just kept on knocking and peeking through the shutters at us. as soon as he walked away les turned to me and said, "we're gonna need some more kaleidescopes." turns out he didn't come back the rest of the night, thankfully, but i was so creeped out that les and i slept in the same bed. this place was absolutely disgusting. it smelled like pee, the toilet wouldn't flush, there was no TP the sheets weren't washed and you could tell that the beds had been slept on and not fixed. there was the creepy mans clothes in the closet and the window in the bathroom was broken out. the lock on the door wasn't working and it was in the back office of the safari company. we sure picked a good one. hhaha. well, i'm still alive so no need to worry. i'll be leaving for south africa tomorrow.
this is all very random and undetailed so when i get home i'll write more about it so you can get the whole idea, but i just wanted to say hello from kenya!
